2010 AGM Is On Wed February 10 at 8pm, Bexley Sports & Social Club

The Grove rounded off an outstanding season by wrapping up their 4th win in five as they defeated Harvel by 41 runs. Stand in skipper Paul Hartley won the toss and followed The Grove trend of 2009 and batted first. Once again the batsmen returned the faith shown in them and racked up 216-9 in 40 overs. Norm Winterman started proceedings with 5 fours and a six in his 41. Chris Beard continued his fine run of form with 8 fours in an aggressive 35. Then stand out batsmen Lee Meaney again produced the goods with 13 fours and a six in an impeccable 73. John Steel 23 & Kiln 20 not out  rounded off a fine batting performance.

Kiln started proceedings with the ball and picked up 2-21 from 8 overs including 4 maidens. Norm Winterman followed his 6 wickets last week with a fine 3-7 from 5.2 overs. Liam Hammond bowled well again with figures of 3-39. Harvel, with the regular loss of wickets were always behind the run rate and when the last wicket fell in the last over they were 41 runs from victory.

As captain I would like to thank all the lads for a fantastic season, it was a pleasure and I look forward to 2010.

Welcome to The Grove Cricket Club

We were formed in 1947 and now are a roaming club, playing all our games in the Dartford and Bexley area. To see some of the clubs we play at, click here.

The Grove are a mixed ability side who only put out a Sunday team. We have a very diverse fixture list in terms of quality of opposition and are always looking to bolster our squad of available players.

Our season falls between April and September and historically The Grove are a stronger bowling team than batting so we are always looking to bolster our batting performances.

We always enjoy a beer or two after the match so if you fancy a regular outing or just a match every so often why not come and join us.
